Be Aware of These Traps when Purchasing Stainless Steel Sinks

2022-08-29 13:52:07

Are you a sink retailer? Are you looking to wholesale stainless steel sinks? As a Malaysia sink manufacturer of more than 15 years of experience, we concluded the following traps that stainless steel sink retailers are easy to fall into. I strongly recommend you to take a look at this article whether you are new or have some experience in the industry.

1. Fake SUS 304 stainless steel material
SUS 304 stainless steel has high level of nickel. Therefore, SUS stainless steel has a better performance in corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance, ductility and toughness, and thus it is no doubt the best raw material for stainless steel sinks. However, SUS 304 stainless steel has higher price than other kinds of stainless steel, such as 201. Some unscrupulous dealers will grasp the opportunity to replace the SUS 304 stainless steel with stainless steel of lower prices in order to reduce the production cost. Fortunately, this is not inevitable. We have an article about how to identify fake SUS 304 stainless steel on our website

2. New material or recycled material
For the same purpose of reducing production cost, some manufacturers may substitute recycled stainless steel material for new stainless steel material, which is more expensive. Stainless steel sinks made of recycled stainless steel have a lot of issues, such as uneven thickness, many impurities and even sand blisters.

3. Thickness of the sink
Usually, the thickness of a stainless steel sink should be even and consistent. Whereas, some producer may make the edge and bowl have different thicknesses. Taking a 4mm stainless steel sink as an example, its edge is 4mm thick while its bowl is only 1.2mm thick. So remember to check carefully and completely.

4. Different cutting methods
Generally, the cutting methods are divided into “cross” integral cutting and scattered cutting. Our factory always takes the “cross” integral cutting method, which makes the whole sink, basin surface, basin body and basin bottom are integrated, and the thickness the same. Although scattered cutting saves raw materials, it adds much welding which is obviously not good.

5. Artificially increase the sink’s weight

Consumers prefer heavier stainless steel sinks. To cater to their preference, someone may seek to spray thicker coating and adding thicker silencing pads on the sink. It seems to make up for the deficient weight of the thinner raw materials. Actually, the quality of this kind of sink is greatly reduced.
